Sorry everyone… It’s been a while. I’m currently pretty busy with my stupid exams – but twice every year even I take my life seriously a get down with studying.

After we had our last regular NOIR (more details on that are to be found here – in German, though) on December 30th, I’m really happy that I’ll be playing Fridays and Saturdays at my «homebase» Club Bonsoir. This fortunate fate will be share by my two NOIR companions DVW and Noiseberg – and to kick this off in a most decent way, the three of us will be playing all night long next saturday.

What big fun we had this weekend! Friday, 23:30. I arrive at Zürich’s “Alte Börse”. And then, there’s alread the first Wow.
“Is… Is this the queue? FUCK, this is ace!”
Well, it was the queue. Soonish after midnight, the club was sold out. 500+ people going mad to the sounds of Jack Pryce, Puschking Noize & Ertu Denli and Headliner Chewy Chocolate Cookies. The sound was really on the harder end of what I play, but it was big fun nevertheless. It’s epic to start your set shortly before 4AM and the crows is still going mad and jumping around! Thanks!

Thanks again Nasty Trash! And special thanks to CCC for the Cookies & the back2back finale! Zurich, I’ll be back soon!

My tour will start on October 23rd in a Backyard. To be precise: The Hinterhof (= Backyard in German ;) ) in Basel.

I’ll be playing back2back with ol’dirty DVW. For all of you that havn’t been to the Hinterhof and live somewhere near Basel: The location is definitely worth a visit!

Up next will be Hamburg, Germany on November, 5th. Some bunker, I heard. So, the absolute contrast to the party, which will be the releas bash of Inferno Ragazzi‘s street wear. And let me tell you one thing: those guys absolutely do honor their name…

My buddy Noiseberg (some call him Nasebär ;) ) has always been a productive fellow. Besides DJing, he’s a member of Nordsite and Patrick Bishop, ‘tour DJ’ of Lo & Leduc, producer of Manoo (you might know them from this track) and – last but not least – organizer of the legendary SuperPingPong.

As if that wasn’t enough, he’s now introducing a new party label. Something big in a small location, from friends for friends. So he booked DVW, Beats On Demand and my humble self to play with him that night. If you’re in Berne (jaaa, i weiss… wieso schribi de änglisch?), come and visit us this friday, September 25th, at Kappelle Bar.

So, what happend? I just had the last weekend of summer 2010. Well, at least dj-like: I did the second last night of ‘Côte Bonsoir’, supporting Jimi Jules & Katakombot at Club Bonsoir and – together with Noiseberg the last night of ‘summer in the city’ at Wazzzziiiiiii on Saturday.

But there’s always an upside to every situation. The one really cool thing about fall is, that I can finally enjoy my beloved grapes again! And they’re even twice as good during gigs, which then looks something like this:

Sich einlogen, Profil löschen.

Das mag durchaus für gewisse Leute genügen. Doch, wäre es denn nicht klüger, sich gleich vollständig aus dem virtuellen Gedächtnis zu löschen. Mit Haut und Haaren, sozusagen. Oder in casu Kommentaren, Fotoalben, persönliche Daten und das eigene soziale Netzwerk. Ich finde: Wenn, dann richtig.
Da das nun aber je nach Sozialisierungsgrad durchaus etwas länger dauern kann, haben findige Niederländer die suicide machine ins internet gebastelt. Diese nimmt einem gleich alles auf einmal, inklusive virtueller Gedenkstätte ab. Doch seht selbst:

Well, I know.. it sounds quite a bit cheesy.. but here’s the story to the mix:

Well, during the past two or three months, I was busy with quite a lot of things, from the musical p.o.v mainly The End of Decency, a live project in wich i was humbled to play alongside the officially best freestyle MC of Switzerland, Lo and another quite successful guy named DVW (aka Dominik von Werdt). However, after this
lingish periode of not-doing-so-much-djing and the uprising spring feelings, I decided to create something for the springish moments in life. What you have in front of you was the result. It’s called sunrise, because when I was reviewing it for the first time, iI just couldn’t help it – it reminded me on a sunrise I witnessed at portinatx (Ibiza) around 0620 after some clubbing. Checking out the cover should give you an impression of the moment :) – and that’s why I have to admit, that it came out quite cheesy sometimes..
Congrats.. you survived my messy little story :)
Now have fun listening! (Hint: works perfectly in a cabriolet while driving aroud in a spring breeze :) )

I recently realized (aka some people told me – thanks there :) ) that I have done some nice mixes – but there’s no normal promo-mixtape-likeIplayintheclub-thingy around. And to be honest: I must have done the last such “tape” somewhat like three years ago. However, I’m happy I used my decks at home again and haven’t even forgotten how to beatchmatch – big yay!

Unfortunately the dust seems to have set on my mixer and thus the sound quality – at least this way it feels more like in the club ;)

• iChat / Skype – iChat dank Jabber-Protokoll als Client für den Facebook-Chat; ein Hoch auf die Stabilität! Skype primär für (Video-)Telefonate, aber auch schon für ein gemeinsames internationales Abendessen…
• dropbox – Eine geniale Cloud-Computing-Anwendung, die eine “virtuelle Festplatte” bietet. Danke dem sharing-feature und dem public-folder genial um grosse Dateien mit Freunden zu teilen oder an jemanden zu versenden.
• NetNewsWire – RSS-Client für Mac OS X und iPhone. Praktisch: Synchronisiert sich optional auch mit google reader.
• soundcloud – Tonnenweise neue Künstler und ihre Musik entdecken; aber auch eine gute Platform, um eigene Sachen zu präsentieren. Der Player ganz oben an der Seite ist übrigens von soundcloud.
• fairtilizer – Wie soundcloud, jedoch in meinen Augen besser für ganze Mixtapes, da keine Zeitbeschränkung in der Gratis-Version.
• wordpress – Das framework auf welchem diese Webseite & der Blog läuft.
• confluence – geniales Wiki, welches ich eigentlich als Datenbank für Uni-Notizen nutzen wollte. Leider habe ich es noch nie über die ersten beiden Semesterwochen hinaus durchzuhalten vermocht…
• myspace – einer der Pioniere… oder sollte man sagen Dinosaurier? Eigentlich ein Web 1.0-Relikt mit einem Hauch Selbstbestimmungsmöglichkeit. Für mich absolut unverständlich: Nach wie vor scheinen alle, die etwas mit Musik am Hut haben, dort präsent sein zu müssen. So what..
• xing/linkedin – Die poshen Schwestern von Facebook. Networking 2.0 oder so. Aber: Solange ich einem potentiellen Arbeitgeber nicht einfach anstelle meines CVs als pdf den Link zu meiner Xing/LinkedIn-Seite geben kann, bleibt es für mich ziemlich nutzlos. Falls sich das einmal ändern sollte, halte ich aber die Profile schön brav aktuell.
• zimbra – Wie Lotus Notes an der Uni – oder Outlook, für die, welche schon in Mittel- & Grossunternehmen gearbeitet haben. Ausserdem benutzte ich es lange als Mailserver, aber das ist eine andere Geschichte.
• google calendar – Hierüber lassen sich Kalender in Apples iCal gemeinsam nutzen. Ziemlich praktisch, wenn mehr als nur jemand im Haushalt wohnt: Man kann einen gemeinsamen Haushalts-Kalender haben, den man auch von überall aus (inkl. iPhone…) ansehen/bearbeiten kann. Notfalls gehts auch über die Webseite.

Until now! I found teuxdeux.com. Probably the neatest little ajax application ever been coded. Make sure to check it out if your are as creatively messy as I am…

Unfortunately? What about a pre-warning? AND WHAT ABOUT BEING ABLE TO FUCKING HANDLE YOUR ACCOUNTING?! However, after only 30some hours, the “very fast” support replied with some apologies and started my server again.

Unfortunately, some things changed. My mailserver (to be more precise: tomcat/java as part of zimbra) won’t start anymore. After like three days without email, webpage, essential tools for my mom’s chalet renting venture etc. I decided to change hoster. So, FUCK YOU, united server service (why the hell did I chose that in the first place, anyway?!), WELCOME dear hostgator.com.

Unfortunately, the mailserver uses a MySQL DB, and since I cannot start it, I cannot get my stupid content of the database either. So, if anyone happened to have a solution for extracting the tables out the files I managed to save, please lemme know. Until then, this is a brand new (argh!) blog.

Fortunately, and this is the big “but”, fortunately I’m back online.
